The next Toad's meeting will be at Nan's house 12:00 -2:00 (meet at the Wautoma Library parking lot at 11:45 and we can ride together). The suggested assignment is: "basking on a rock," and/or "unreasoning fury." Choose a poem style of your choice.
On Feb. 10, 2009 the Toad's met at A&W Restaurant in Wautoma. Ken gave us a little history lesson on Rudyard Kipling which was very informative. We shared poems from last month's prompt(s): 'honest poverty or I trembled like some guilty thing surprised.' Maxine shared a poem about how scary it was when she drove a tractor up a fence post. Julie shared a poem about two people having an affair and how dangerous it could be. Lauretta shared a touching poem about poverty in Ireland. Barbara did her own thing and wrote a prose poem about dancing under the table. Nan wrote about playing hide and seek in the dark. Ken wrote about a strict rich woman gone poor. Carl made a surprise appearance, and seemed to have a hard time keeping his mind on what we were doing. He didn't bring a poem to share, but we forgave him.
